“My Voice, My Life” Movie Appreciation

60 students from Teach Unlimited Foundation partner schools attended a private screening of the inspiring documentary – “My Voice, My Life” on March 2, 2015. The event, sponsored by Credit Suisse, offered an opportunity for our partner school students, Credit Suisse volunteers and TUF directors to witness a life transformation through an inspirational, yet rigorous, musical training.

The movie talks about how a group of low self-esteem, misbehaved and physically challenged students transformed to a better person through a musical theater performance. Often being categorized as “the least desirable students” in schools, they found their strengths and picked a right attitude to overcome challenges ahead of them after the musical. The movie touched each of the audiences’ heart and brought many of us in tears!

Ada HO, the producer of “My Voice My Life”, also showed up in the theatre at the end of the movie to give the participants a speech. She encouraged each of us to learn from the main character “Ah Bok” for his perseverance to change and “Tsz Nok” for his positive attitude of accepting and overcoming his blindness.

To deeply understand what our students felt after the movie screening, here are some of their comments –

“It is inspiring to see Tsz Nok facing his gradual eye sight lost with a very positive attitude!”

“The movie makes me understand that it is never too late to change!”
